1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Melati", "we", "us", or "our" refers to Melati, operating from 48, Persiaran Greentown 3, 30450 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
- "Service" refers to our financial education programmes, classes, and this website.
- "User" or "you" refers to any person who visits this website or enrols in a Melati programme.
- "Agreement" means these Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.
- "Content" refers to all materials, workbooks, guides, and programme content produced by Melati.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or enrolling in a Melati programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use this website or enrol in our programmes. You must be at least 18 years of age to enrol. By enrolling, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement.
3. Our Services
Melati provides financial education programmes for adults in Malaysia. Our current programme offerings are described on the Solutions page of this website. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue a programme with reasonable notice.
All content is educational in nature only. Melati does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or legal advice. Nothing in our programmes constitutes a recommendation to take any specific financial action.
4. Enrolment and Fees
Enrolment in a programme is confirmed once we have received your enquiry, agreed on a suitable programme date, and collected the programme fee. Fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of all materials described for each programme.
- Easing Into Money Basics: RM 230 per participant
- A Restful Look at Retirement: RM 470 per participant
- The Calm Retirement Programme: RM 800 per participant
Payment must be received in full before the first session. Accepted methods will be confirmed during enrolment.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your enrolment:
- Cancellation more than 7 days before the first session: full refund, less any bank charges.
- Cancellation within 7 days of the first session: 50% refund.
- No-shows or cancellations on the day of the first session: no refund.
If Melati cancels or postpones a programme, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another session.
6. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are expected to:
- Attend sessions punctually and respectfully.
- Treat other participants and educators with courtesy.
- Not record, reproduce, or distribute any session content or materials without prior written consent from Melati.
- Not disclose personal financial information shared by other participants during sessions.
We reserve the right to remove a participant from a programme without refund if their conduct is disruptive or disrespectful to others.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials, workbooks, guides, and content produced by Melati remain the intellectual property of Melati. Participants are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use materials for their own personal learning only. Reproduction, sharing, or commercial use of our materials without written permission is prohibited.
8. Educational Disclaimer
Melati's programmes are educational in nature. We do not provide personalised financial, legal, or investment advice. Information presented in our sessions reflects general financial literacy content for Malaysian adults and is not a substitute for professional advice tailored to your individual circumstances. We make no representations about the financial outcomes any participant may experience after attending our programmes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Melati's liability to any participant arising from a programme is limited to the fee paid for that programme. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or financial loss arising from participation in our educational programmes or use of this website.
10. Website Use
This website is provided for informational purposes. You agree not to use the website for unlawful purposes or in a way that interferes with its proper functioning. We may change the content of this website at any time without notice.
11. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using this website or enrolling in a programme, you agree to that policy.
12. Termination
Melati may suspend or terminate access to the website at any time. A participant's enrolment may be terminated as described in Section 6 above. Sections 7, 8, 9, and 13 survive any termination.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute shall first be addressed through informal negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Perak, Malaysia, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website or enrolment in a programme after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
